XBM staff collect food donations to support Wakefield Street Kitchen
XBM Limited has collected food donations for the Wakefield Street Kitchen from its offices across the country donated by service, sales, and admin staff members.
These were delivered, along with other donations collected by the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation, to the Wakefield charity on Friday 1st December, as temperatures dropped and increasing numbers of people turn to food banks.
According to statistics posted in March 2023, figures showed that in 2021/22, 2.1 million people in the UK had used a food bank in the previous 12 months.
With the costs of living still rising, this number will only worsen across the next few years, with the Wakefield Street Kitchen acting as more than a kitchen, helping families in need over holiday season and through the coldest months of the year.
The Foundation was once again taken aback by the generosity of the community, with XBM, Wakefield College, Garforth Tigresses, the Finance Team at Pinderfields Hospital, Normanton Junior Academy, and members of the Wakefield Trinity fan base all collecting food and clothing to be donated.
Working with the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation, XBM supports a range of local groups and charities working in the local community, from the Wakefield Trinity Ladies Rugby League Team and the Ossett Albion under 8’s Football Teams, to Helping the Homeless Wakefield and the Wakefield Street Kitchen.
